Frequently Asked Questions

  • Contact us to arrange an appointment or leave your details and we will get back to you at our earliest availability.

  • Sessions are $240.

If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $98.95 per session – current at the time of writing in 2026.

If you have private health insurance, it’s worth checking whether psychology is covered in your policy.

  • No. You’re welcome to self-refer.
However, a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP allows you to claim Medicare rebates if eligible.

  • The first session is focused on getting to know your history, what brings you in, and what you want from therapy.
We’ll look at what “success” would mean for you and start building a shared understanding of the support you need.

There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we go at a pace that feels right.

  • Both.

In-person sessions are in Lane Cove, conveniently located near The Canopy shops. There’s easy parking nearby and frequent bus connections.

    Online sessions are available Australia-wide.

  • I offer appointments on Thursdays and Fridays — both in person and online.

  • Cancellations within 24 hours of your appointment incur a $150 fee.

This allows the time to be offered to someone else who may be waiting.

  • I work with adults aged 17+.

  • Standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes.

  • People come to see me for a range of concerns, including:
    • self-esteem and identity
    • relationship and family challenges
    • anxiety and stress
    • low mood
    • feeling stuck or repeating old patterns
    • wanting a healthier relationship with themselves and others

  • I draw from Schema Therapy, CBT, EMDR, and ACT.

Think of them as different ways of understanding patterns, processing what’s been overwhelming, and supporting you to build new ways of responding.

  • No — psychologists don’t prescribe medication.

If medication is part of your care, you would see a GP or psychiatrist.
Many clients use therapy alongside medication; others prefer psychology alone.

  • I’m warm but straightforward.
You won’t find me using academic jargon or avoiding the hard stuff.

Our sessions are collaborative and grounded in understanding what’s really getting in the way — so change feels real, not theoretical.

  • Referrals are welcome from GPs, psychiatrists, or other health professionals. Simply send a referral letter (or copy of the Mental Health Treatment Plan) via email: hello@resilientrootspsychology.com.au

Or have your client bring it to their appointment. No specific form required—I'll confirm receipt and keep you updated on progress as needed.

  • You can contact me by completing the enquiry form or emailing me at hello@resilientrootspsychology.com.au and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
