The Resilient Roots Approach

At Resilient Roots Psychology, we:

  • Honour your lived experience.

  • Recognise the quiet strength you already carry.

  • Provide a safe, grounded space for reflection and growth.

  • Support healing at a pace that feels right for you.

  • Focus on sustainable, meaningful change — not quick fixes.

Therapy is not about “fixing” you. It is about creating space for you to deepen your roots and move toward the light in your own way.

Sessions are collaborative and thoughtful — balancing clinical expertise with warmth, safety, and genuine care.

Therapy for Adults Who Want Life to Feel Different

Therapy provides a supportive, grounded space to explore what’s happening in your life, understand patterns that keep you feeling stuck, and build healthier ways of coping and relating.

I work with adults who want to feel more at ease within themselves, improve their relationships, and break long-standing cycles in their families or personal lives.

Common reasons people come to therapy include anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or simply feeling “not like themselves” and wanting life to feel different.

Together, we explore the emotional patterns shaped by your history and how they show up in the present. The work is steady, reflective, and focused on creating shifts that you can genuinely feel — not just changes in how you think.

Evidence-Based Therapeutic Approaches Tailored to You

I use a mix of evidence-based approaches depending on what you need — including Schema Therapy, CBT, and EMDR. These approaches are blended and together we choose what fits best for you, depending on your goals and pace.

Think of them as different ways of helping you understand patterns, process what’s been overwhelming, and build new ways of responding that feel steadier and more “you.”

Schema Therapy: Helps identify and shift deep-rooted patterns formed in early life, particularly useful for breaking cycles and strengthening your sense of self.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR): Supports the processing of overwhelming or unresolved experiences so they have less impact on your day-to-day life.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapay (CBT): Provides practical tools to help you notice and change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, especially around anxiety and low mood.

Online Sessions at Resilient Roots Psychology

Online sessions offer the same thoughtful, focused therapy as in-person ones, but from the comfort of your own space.

They're ideal if you're in a regional area, have a busy schedule, or simply prefer the convenience of not commuting—especially in Sydney's traffic. Many clients choose them for flexibility, like fitting sessions around work or family without travel time.

What do online therapy sessions look like?

We meet via a secure video platform (like Google Meet), with sessions lasting 50 minutes, just like face-to-face. I handle the professional setup on my end, but we share responsibility for creating a safe, distraction-free environment on yours. This means finding a consistent, private spot where you can speak freely.

Please avoid public places, cars, or spots where interruptions might happen; headphones help reduce noise and echo for clearer conversations.

If something feels off, we'll discuss and adjust—same as in the room, it’s about creating a space where you feel secure enough to dig into the patterns no longer serving you.

Considerations.

Before You Book an Initial Consult

Therapy isn’t always comfortable, especially early on—opening up old patterns can feel confronting or exhausting before it feels freeing. That initial discomfort is often a sign we're touching deeper layers that have shaped your experiences for a long time, and it's part of the honest, reflective work that leads to real, lasting change—not just short-term relief.

I offer depth-oriented therapy for adults who are seeking more than symptom management. My work focuses on understanding the deeper patterns shaped by early experiences and the ways these patterns show up in your relationships, self-esteem, and everyday life.

Rather than providing quick fixes or surface-level strategies, this is a process that supports lasting internal change. I typically work with clients on meaningful work often extending beyond the 10 Medicare-subsidised sessions per year.

If this approach feels aligned with what you’re looking for—and you're ready for that honest, reflective effort—I’d be glad to support you on your mental health journey.

Please note: If you’re after a shorter-term, goal-focused, problem-solving session, this is also available. Please let me know upfront so we can tailor sessions to your needs.

Resilience does not mean the absence of struggle. It means growth in the presence of it, like a daisy finding its way through the cracks in cold, unyielding concrete. At Resilient Roots Psychology, we believe that even in the hardest seasons, there is space for strength, hope, and renewal. And you do not have to navigate that journey alone.
